Announcement of Faculty Position (Communication - 201001)

1. Affiliation:  Faculty of Systems Information Science

2. Open Position:  Professor, Associate Professor. State your preference in your application.

3. Specialized fields: teaching experience and expertise in one or several of the following fields:
(1) Communication Studies
(2) Media Studies
(3) Science Communication
(4) Technology Enhanced Education
(5) Futures Communication
(6) Education

4. Subjects to be Taught: a-category compulsory and, if possible, one or two subjects from b-category.
a. Communication. The project-focused Communication courses are designed to promote communication,
     critical thinking, and organization skills using English as the primary language of exchange.
b. Liberal arts subjects: Media Studies, Engineering Ethics, Law and Science/Engineering,
    Communication Theory, Information Media Society, Language and Society.

5. Eligibility
・Applicants must show excellent research achievements or excellent educational achievements
  in the above mentioned fields.
・Applicants are expected to have enthusiasm for not only research and education but also faculty development,
  committee activities and community engagement.
・Applicants are expected to have linguistic fluency in English.
・Those who apply for professor position are expected to have a Doctorate or equivalent plus teaching experience
  in one or several of the fields listed.

7. Documents to be Submitted: (in either English or Japanese except 7(4) and 7(5) in English)
(Application form is available to be downloaded from the University Homepage.)
(1) Resume: Please use the designated resume form.
(2) Outline of achievements: For the academic achievements, please use the designated form.
      The list is to be categorized such as “refereed papers in academic journals”,
      “refereed papers in conference proceedings”, “refereed oral presentations” and “others”.
      For those who apply for the position based on his/her educational achievements,
      please submit the detailed record of the educational activities/results with the verifiable documents
     or portfolio to show the eligibility.
(3) Reprints or clear copies of 2 or 3 major publications with both Japanese and English abstracts.
(4) Summary of research or educational activities and the plans for the future
      (within 2 pages of A4 sized paper in length)
(5) A brief explanation of how you would develop a “social contract” between Future University and the community
      (within 2 pages of A4 sized paper in length)
(6) List of 2 referees including their names, workplaces, positions, contact address
      (postal address, phone number(s), and e-mail(s)), and relationship with the applicant
