Future University-Hakodate ("FUN") was established in April, 2000, and started its graduate school in April, 2003. With "human values" as its basis, the University provides programs to meet the demands of a rapidly changing society. The University focuses on the acquisition of new world views based on deep understanding of information and communication technologies and the concept of complex systems. The University's main concept is "openness", and this is reflected in its facilities, teaching, and research.

Human beings have developed science, technology and new social systems that have led to unprecedented transformations in our lives.

As a result, our society has been undergoing drastic changes in recent years, brought about by many factors including the rapid advance of information processing and communication technologies. We are now at a point where it is important to review these transformations and think seriously about what they will bring in the future.

President of Future University,
