The School of Systems Information Science consists of two departments:
Complex Systems and Media Architecture.
The field of information science was born in the middle of the 20th century, and was principally regarded as combining the technologies of hardware and software. The hardware held and processed large amounts of data, and the software controlled the hardware. As the 20th century progressed, the performance of computer hardware increased greatly. Combined with new network technology, this was the start of the IT revolution. Today, computers are embedded in our lives, forming a global ubiquitous information system. Understanding this global network calls for knowledge about large complex systems. Mobile phones and humanoid robots are now designed with deep knowledge of social mechanisms and human behavior. |
We at Future University - Hakodate recognizes that information systems cannot be isolated from people and society. Our courses cover a wide area, from large complex interactive systems to human-oriented design. We invite you to experience FUN; to play your part in the design of life in the 21st century. |
