Events Organized by FUN in Hakodate

FUN staff and students organize numerous events in the town itself. Annual events such as the Hakosemi bring together students from other universities in Japan. Collaborations between artists, FUN students and staff, and the local community are developed by the yearly "Art Harbor". Students also collaborate with local organizations in festivals and events, including the Hakodate Illumination Film Festival and the Daimon Festival, aimed at rejuvinating the downtown Daimon area.

Each year faculty and students develop projects with schools, hospitals, and many local companies and cultural groups. Future University-Hakodate has established a satellite centre in downtown Hakodate to facilitate such projects, which has been used for video conferencing and project development.

Open Events Held at FUN

The University attracts many leading thinkers, performers, and achievers, who give lectures or participate in open workshops. A series of open lectures, held annually, feature local and international specialists and professors of FUN. The yearly Open Campus event features talks and demonstrations that aim to introduce FUN to the public.
