MEDIA ARCHITECTURE – Three Course Strands
1. Intelligent Systems Course
The Intelligent Systems Course (ISC) aims to foster information system engineers for the next generation through the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) / hardware technology (advanced information technology) and cognitive science / information representation.
The ISC curriculum is broad-based covering aspects of software such as planning, design, and programming of systems, to hardware aspects including electronic engineering. This broad approach is linked to the fact that a number of FUN academic faculty are involved in the macro goal of creating human-like robots. This unique curriculum provides the A to Z of system building, including control and operation experiments using programming.

2. Information Systems Course
The aim of this course is to foster scholars who can imagine, conceive and create new relationships between computers and humans while learning state-of-the-art knowledge from the two major technologies in system development - networks and databases.
Like humans who invented the automobile out of the desire to move faster on land, and aircraft from the desire to fly, this course strand aims to “enrich human lives” with the use and application of computer technologies. This course includes a number of lab courses and practices for the student to ‘discover’ novel possibilities – such as a new generation Internet, which enables people to exchange information and ideas with people over the world.
3. Information Design Course
This course aims to foster people interested in developing the field of Information Design by providing state-of-the-art knowledge and skills from the field of Information Science and Cognitive Science, in addition to Design Theory and Human Interface (the field of Information Representation).
What differentiates this course at FUN from other art based universities and design schools is that students learn the scientific dynamics concerning how senders’ messages are carried to message-recipients. Furthermore, this course offers a flexible curriculum that aims to improve the student’s sensibility in parallel with computing skills.
