FUN Symbol
The Future University-Hakodate Logo consists of five spherical objects with different sizes that present unlimited proliferating knowledge and energy for the future. It represents that the University will foster excellent personnel with global perspective, by integrating human, science, information, culture, and nature in a balanced manner. On the other hand, the logo also represents the five municipalities - Hakodate city, Kamiiso town, Ono town, Nanae town, and Toi town - who took part in the establishment of the University in 2000.
In April 1999, the University Identity (UI) Committee started work on developing the logo design. They proceeded quickly, including decision of the basic concept, selection of the agent (Hiromura Design Office), and narrowing down of the design candidates. The design was finalized in September. Afterwards, the logo began to be used on business cards and envelopes.
The logo represents Future University-Hakodate, and should be used with discretion and with consistency. In order to prevent misuse of the logo it is necessary for us to use the logo based on the set regulations when used on posters, brochures, and newspaper ads. Before being dissolved in April, the UI Committee decided the rules for the logo use by compiling the UI Manual. Please refer to this manual when you use the logo. Three kinds of the logo are available to be downloaded. Please use them freely, but be sure not to change shape and color of the logo. All of the samples are saved as GIF data.
