ネットワークサービス(例えばインターネット)は、今や我々の日常生活の非常に重要な一要素になってきております。インターネットは、基本的なWEBアクセスサービスに加え、従来のテレフォンネットワーク、モバイルネットワーク、ケーブルビデオネットワークなどのサービスも提供することが期待されております。様々なサービス(インターネットアクセス、音声、ビデオ、TVなど)を保証された品質で提供し、ユーザがいつでも、どこでも希望するサービスを受けられるようにするために、我々は光通信技術と無線通信技術の両方に 基づいた先端ネットワーク技術を研究しております。そのためには、いくつかの重要なネットワーク問題を研究する必要があります。
1.ネットワーク設計: 光バックボーン設計、無線ネットワーク設計、ルーティングプロトコル設計、サービス品質(QoS)保証など。
2.ネットワーク保護: ネットワーク障害に対するネットワーク保護、大規模な障害や地域的な障害に対するミッションクリティカルネットワークの保護、ネットワークモニタリング技術など。
3.ネットワークセキュリティ: ネットワークの攻撃検出、ネットワークの攻撃予防など。
The network service (like the Internet) is now becoming a very important part of our daily life. In addition to the basic Web access service, it is expected that the Internet can also provide other similar services like the traditional telephone networks, mobile networks, cable video networks. For this purpose, we are working on the advanced networking techniques based on the optical and wireless communication technologies to provide various services (Internet access, voice, video, TV, etc) with guaranteed quality and also mobile support, such that the network users can get their desired services in anywhere and at anytime. To achieve this target, some important networking issues need to be explored:
1. Network Design: Optical backbone network design, wireless access network design, routing protocol design, quality of service (QoS) guarantee, etc.
2. Network Protection: Network protection against network failures, protection of mission critical networks against large scale disasters and region failures, network monitoring techniques, etc.
3. Network Security: network attack detection, network attack prevention, etc.
