I am a Professor at Future University-Hakodate (FUN). I teach Human-Interface, User Centered Design, Cognitive Science and Interactive Systems at the university. My research interests are mainly both Cognitive Information Science as science and Interactive Systems as engineering (see Research Topics). I believe that the fusion of two fields will give us a new viewpoint.
In 1997, I received the degree of Ph.D. from Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), where Dr. Satoshi Sato, Dr. Satoshi Tojo and Dr. Susumu Kunifuji supervised my work and managed my graduate student years. After getting the Ph.D., I was a visiting researcher at ATR Media Information & Communications Research Laboratories, from 1997 to 2001. In 2001, I was an associate professor at Future University-Hakodate. Since 2005, I have been a professor at the university.

私は現在，公立はこだて未来大で研究・教育を行っています． 現在の研究の興味は，科学としての「認知情報科学」と工学としての「インタラクティブ システム」です．この2つの研究領域を融合することにより，研究の新しい視点が得られるのではないか と考えています（研究も参照してください）．また，教育面では， ヒューマンインタフェース，ユーザ・センタード・デザイン，認知科学，インタラクティブシステムの 講義を担当しています．
私は1997年に北陸先端科学技術大学院大学(JAIST)の博士後期課程 を修了しました．大学院在学中は，佐藤理史先生，東条敏先生，國藤進先生にご指導をいただきました． 大学院卒業後，1997年から2001年まで，ATR 知能映像通信研究所の客員研究員として研究に従事していました．2001年に，公立はこだて未来大学の 助教授として採用され，2005年より教授となりました．函館は観光で有名なように美しい街で，また美味しい食べ物もたくさんある街です．函館にお越しの際 は，是非お立ち寄りください．
