Third-year undergraduate student Mana Uesaka (pictured right, Department of Media Architecture Information Design Course)November 13, 2025 November 13, 2025 I was selected as a finalist in the M-BIP student business idea contest held on the 14th at the ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel Kanazawa in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, and received the QR Investment Award in the final judging.
M-BIP is a student business idea contest held concurrently with Matching HUB, an industry-government-academia-finance matching event organized by the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST). Out of 72 applications from across the country, Ms. Uesaka and her team were selected as one of the 12 finalists and participated in the final judging on November 13th in Kanazawa.
Uesaka and her team proposed "Itadakimatch," an app that connects farmers and consumers through the expression of "thank you." During her summer vacation, Uesaka participated in the Niseko Entrepreneurship Camp (organized by Otaru University of Commerce), a 5-night, 6-day extracurricular program. There, she teamed up with students from other universities and proposed business ideas that would contribute to solving regional issues in Niseko, incorporating an information design perspective. This proposal is an evolution of the ideas developed at that camp.
