The Science of Complex Systems: Unraveling Natural Patterns with Mathematical Models

Research

The natural world is full of mysterious "orders," such as the movements of bird flocks, gyroid structures, and standing waves found inside cells. Although these phenomena may appear random at first glance, mathematical mechanisms are hidden behind them. Our laboratory is working to theoretically elucidate "why" the diverse patterns that appear in nature arise, using mathematical models.

If you've ever wondered, "Why do clouds or flowers take on these shapes?", then here you'll find a world where you can explore that question academically. We'll introduce research that uses mathematical models to interpret all kinds of phenomena, without being limited to specific materials.
