Research

Kei Takahashi (Department of Complex and Intelligent Systems, Complex Systems Course) and Yota Arimoto (Department of Complex and Intelligent Systems, Intelligent Systems Course), both fourth-year undergraduate students, June 3, 2026 I received the "JUIDA Technical Journal Poster Session Best Poster Award" at "Japan Drone 2026," held on the 5th at Makuhari Messe (Chiba Prefecture). My supervisors were Associate Professor Toshihiro Nishizawa (Department of Complex and Intelligent Systems) and Associate Professor Junichi Osada (Department of Media Architecture), who co-supervised my work.

Takahashi and his colleagues presented research on the development and demonstration of a system that utilizes small, low-cost drones to quickly perform aerial photography and 3D modeling at disaster sites, thereby enabling rapid information sharing among stakeholders.

This award is presented to individuals or groups who have made outstanding research presentations that contribute to the development of the unmanned aerial system (UAS) industry at poster sessions hosted by the Japan UAS Industrial Development Association (JUIDA).
