History

The Hakodate Area Public University Wide Area Union was established, consisting of one city and four towns: Hakodate City, Kamiiso Town, Ono Town, Nanae Town, and Toi Town (currently consisting of two cities and one town: Hakodate City, Hokuto City, and Nanae Town due to a merger).
