1. Class days

Classes are conducted according to the academic calendar. Generally, classes are held Monday through Friday. However, please note that classes may be held on other days due to the availability of instructors or other staff.

3. Intensive lecture

Intensive lecture periods are scheduled during the breaks before and after each semester. During these periods, some of the courses assigned to each semester are offered intensively. Each intensive lecture consists of 3-4 consecutive class periods per day, held over several days. The schedule and classrooms for the intensive lectures will be announced via the student portal and other means before the lectures begin.

4. Class cancellations and make-up classes

(1) Class cancelled

If a class instructor is unable to teach due to official duties, business trips, illness, etc., the class will be canceled. If an instructor cancels a class, students will be notified via the student portal or other means.

(2) Supplementary lessons

As a general rule, make-up classes will be held for any classes that have been canceled.
Information regarding supplementary classes will be sent via the student portal, etc., so please check the date, time, and classroom.

5. Absence, Suspension from School

(1) Absence

If you are going to be absent from class, please report the reason for your absence to the instructor of that course either beforehand or before the next class after returning to school.
If you are absent from classes for seven or more consecutive days due to illness or other reasons, please submit an absence form to the Administration Bureau Education/Student Affairs Division Education Affairs Section and inform the instructor of the class you will be absent from.
Please attach a doctor's certificate if the absence is due to illness or injury, or an accident report if the absence is due to an accident, to your absence notification.

(2) Suspension of attendance

In cases of infectious diseases such as influenza, students will be required to stay home from school, and their academic performance will not be negatively affected. If you become infected, please contact the Education Affairs Section of the Education/Student Affairs Division immediately.

6. Learning Consultation

(1) Consult with your homeroom teacher

Students, please do not hesitate to consult with your instructors regarding any questions about classes or for advice on course registration.

(2) Use of the Meta Learning Lab

In the Meta Learning Lab located on the 4th floor studio, student tutors will support your learning.
Senior students will give you advice on how to study at university, such as how to resolve any points you don't understand in class.

7. Class assignments and homeroom teachers

To provide advice on various issues related to studies and student life, each department and grade level has a homeroom teacher.

(1) Class Organization

Classes will be organized by department and grade level.

(2) Class teacher

For first and second-year students, each class will have a homeroom teacher. For third-year students, the instructor in charge of the Systems Information Science Practical Training (project-based learning) will be their homeroom teacher, and for fourth-year students, the instructor in charge of their graduation research will be their homeroom teacher. These teachers will provide guidance and advice on academic studies and other aspects of student life.
