Support for people with disabilities

At our university, we provide academic support, including reasonable accommodations, to ensure that students with disabilities can study without being discriminated against by other students.

Providing reasonable accommodations

When a person with a disability expresses a desire to have social barriers removed, necessary and reasonable measures should be taken to remove those barriers, provided that the burden of doing so is not excessive. This is called "providing reasonable accommodation."
When providing reasonable accommodations, we will determine the appropriate course of action after engaging in constructive dialogue between the university and the students.

About the Student Counseling Office

The Student Counseling Center provides counseling by clinical psychologists with experience in the medical and educational fields (schools, etc.), and is available to all students of the university.
During your student life, you may sometimes feel anxious or worried. When that happens, please don't keep it all to yourself; use the student counseling center.

How to Use

Opening days are:Every Tuesday and ThursdayYes. (Please inquire separately regarding extended holiday periods.)
You are welcome to come directly, but please note that we may not be able to assist you if we are in consultation with other students. Therefore, it is recommended to make a reservation in advance using the contact information below.

Confidentiality and Information Sharing

Clinical psychologists are bound by confidentiality obligations. Therefore, information shared in the student counseling center will not be disclosed to any third party without the client's permission. However, if it is beneficial for resolving the problem, information may be shared with the necessary parties after obtaining the client's permission.

About off-campus counseling services for mental and physical health

To provide students with a place where they can feel comfortable seeking advice at any time, our university has established a new "Mind and Body Counseling Service" with the cooperation of the Future University Hakodate Supporters' Association.

24-hour telephone health consultation service

Qualified professionals such as doctors, public health nurses, and registered nurses are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer your questions about health, medical care, nursing care, childcare, mental health, and more. (Open 7 days a week, no call charges or consultation fees)

Mental health counseling services

A psychological counselor will provide support for emotional problems that are difficult to discuss, whether at school or in your personal life.

This service is free of charge for students enrolled at Future University and their families. If you have any concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us, no matter how small, instead of keeping them to yourself.
