"Achieving true health/well-being through ICT"
In the future, we believe that research and development, as well as social design, will be necessary to improve "Well-being" (happiness, quality of life, life satisfaction, etc.), a state that is intrinsically valuable to people and society.
In particular, we will position our ICT research as a foundation for solving problems in the fields of medical care, health, and nursing care/welfare, which have long been recognized as social issues, by focusing on Personal Health Records (PHRs), which are systems for managing and utilizing personal information. Furthermore, we will also challenge ourselves in fields that aim to realize true health and well-being on a broader scale.
In promoting our research, we are collaborating with hospitals, nursing care facilities, and related companies in the Hakodate area to address community challenges in the medical and healthcare fields in real-world settings.
Specifically, we are conducting research to utilize the latest IoT/AI and data science technologies to support clinical settings and other areas, focusing on life logs obtainable from various sensors such as smartphones and smartwatches, health data measured by health devices, and medical data such as test results and prescriptions.

The appeal of research
Solving community challenges in the medical and healthcare fields is a crucial issue that everyone faces, not only in the Hakodate area but also throughout Hokkaido, Japan, and even in developed countries overseas. Among these challenges, the use of ICT to address them is still lagging behind and is one of the areas with the greatest potential for future growth. I believe this is a field that we should focus on in order to create a better society and enable people to live in well-being.
Achievements
Up until now, NTT Laboratories, NTT Data, and the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee have been promoting research and development and practical application, primarily aimed at solving social issues in the medical and healthcare fields.
In particular, regarding "Personal Health Records (PHRs)," a system that enables individuals to proactively manage and utilize their medical and health information, we have proposed this system domestically through research, policy recommendations, book publications, and lectures. Furthermore, we have contributed to its realization through technological research, demonstration experiments, academic presentations/paper writing, international standardization (UN specialized agency: International Telecommunication Union ITU), and commercialization.
In addition, 2021 2021 At the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, I was in charge of risk management at the Organizing Committee, primarily as the service manager for the infectious disease control support system and the application for Games personnel, contributing to the safe and secure operation of the Games.
We will continue to use ICT to promote the resolution of social issues in the medical and healthcare fields and contribute to the realization of a well-being society.

Research Contents
“Realizing True Health/Well-being with ICT”
In the future, we believe it is necessary to conduct research and development and design society to improve “well-being” (happiness, quality of life, life satisfaction, etc.), a state that is intrinsically valuable to people and society.
In particular, in the fields of medicine, health, and nursing care/welfare, which have long been recognized as social issues, we position ICT research as the basis for solutions based on personal health records (PHR), a system for managing and utilizing information by individuals, and we are also taking on the challenge to expand our research into fields aimed at achieving true health and Well-being more broadly.
In promoting our research, we are working with hospitals, nursing care facilities, and related companies in the Hakodate area to solve issues in the local community in the medical and health fields in the actual field.

Attractive Factors of My Research
Resolving local social issues in the medical and health fields is an important theme facing everyone, not only in the Hakodate area, but also in Hokkaido, all of Japan, and in developed countries overseas. The use of ICT to solve these issues is one of the most important areas for the future. I believe that this is an area where we should focus our efforts in order to realize a better society and enable people to live well-being.
Achievement
I have been promoting research, development and practical applications aimed for solving social issues mainly focus on the medical and health fields at NTT Laboratories, NTT DATA, and the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
In particular, I have proposed “Personal Health Record (PHR),” a system for individuals to independently manage and utilize medical and health information, in Japan through surveys, policy proposals, book publications, and lectures, etc. In addition, I have contributed to its realization through technical research, demonstration experiments, conference presentations, paper writing, international standardization (United Nations Specialized Agency: International Telecommunication Union ITU), and commercialization, We have also contributed to the realization of the project through technical research, demonstration experiments, conference presentations/paper writing, international standardization (UN specialized agency: International Telecommunication Union ITU), and commercialization.
In addition, I was Project Director of risk management at the Organizing Committee for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games held in 2021 postponed, and contributed to the safe and secure operation of the Games, mainly as the service lead manager of the infection control business support system/application for Games workforces and participants etc.
I will continue to promote solutions to social issues in the medical and health fields through ICT and contribute to the realization of a Well-being society.
