Job introductions
Research on sensor database technology
With advancements in sensor and wireless communication technologies, the environment is becoming more conducive to deploying and utilizing various sensors and sensor networks in real-world settings. More recently, research is underway on attaching sensors to moving objects such as people and vehicles to understand the state of cities in real time (urban sensing). Research is also progressing on new application fields of sensor technology, such as marine IT and agricultural IT. However, the technology for efficiently storing and utilizing this large amount of sensing information in a database is not yet sufficiently developed. Therefore, we are conducting research on database technology (sensor database technology) for effectively collecting, storing, searching, and integrating sensing data that is generated moment by moment from sensor networks.
- Database technology for urban sensing (mobile sensing)
- Spatiotemporal Database Technology
- Stream database technology
- Heterogeneous sensor data integration technology
- Prediction and mining technologies for sensor data streams
- Database technology with real-world applications (navigation, marine IT, agricultural IT) in mind.
Research on the application of spatial information technology to ubiquitous computing.
Using mobile phones and GPS, people can now obtain their current location and access a variety of location-based and mapping services. In ubiquitous computing, this location information and map data are fundamental, and technologies for collecting, organizing, integrating, and visualizing various information based on "location" (spatial information technology) are attracting attention.
- Development of location-based applications
- Utilization of behavioral history data such as GPS
- Utilization of behavioral sensing data
- Visualization of urban sensing data
- Applications of Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Mapping and visualization of marine sensing information
- Application of Augmented Reality Technology to Pedestrian Navigation
