About what happens after graduation

Please tell me about your career path after graduation and your current job.

Leading the department specializing in strengthening data utilization at "@cosme," which has over 1,000 million members.

I joined a company that operates services both domestically and internationally, primarily through e-commerce sites such as "@cosme," Japan's largest cosmetics and beauty information media, as well as physical stores. After working as a data engineer, I became an engineering manager, where I focused on developing the team structure and training members, and later established a specialized department to further enhance data utilization.

Currently, as the head of that department, I am responsible for the architecture design and utilization promotion of projects, and for formulating and promoting company-wide data. In the project to modernize the aging data infrastructure system into a cloud-based system, I aimed to reduce the operational burden and improve availability, while also overseeing everything from requirements definition to design, development, and release. Furthermore, in the "data democratization strategy," which creates an environment where internal users can independently utilize data, I have achieved improvements in data literacy and increased utilization.

At university

What was your experience like studying at Future University?

Days spent wholeheartedly devoting myself to research activities in a free and open environment.

For me, who chose to study at Future University because I believe that system development and AI will become increasingly important in the future, Future University was truly the ideal environment. In today's highly uncertain society, the hypothesis-driven thinking skills honed through my studies and Research Student activities are invaluable in developing businesses and policies. When planning and promoting platform businesses across disciplines, it is necessary to understand the backgrounds and needs of members with different areas of expertise and to connect their respective challenges and goals. My experience in project-based learning, where I brought together diverse members towards a common goal, has been helpful in this regard.

Looking back, the days I spent engaged in research activities and project-based learning in a free and open environment were truly invaluable. I realize that everything I learned and experienced at Future University forms the foundation for team building and communication in my current job.
