About what happens after graduation

Please tell me about your career path after graduation and your current job.

A game developer who handles everything from brainstorming ideas to designing the user experience.

Games are one of Japan's proudest forms of entertainment. I currently work as a planner at Nintendo Cube Co., Ltd., a company that plans and develops game software. Since joining the company, I have been involved in the creation of party games that are popular in homes all over the world and that almost everyone has played at least once.

A planner's job isn't just about coming up with interesting ideas. It's about designing the user experience down to the smallest detail, collaborating with many people to bring it to life as a game. We constantly think from the player's perspective, considering how to create the feeling of "fun!", and we go through daily trial and error. My current goal is to bring a project I started from scratch to the world with my own hands. I will continue to challenge myself with that moment in mind.

At university

What was your experience like studying at Future University?

A graduation research paper on using onomatopoeia to support calligraphy speed has been accepted at an international academic conference.

My experience as a team leader during project-based learning, where I monitored team members' progress and managed implementation status, feels directly relevant to my current job. Furthermore, as a planner, I frequently interact with other departments, and the communication skills I developed during university are invaluable when requesting implementation assistance during busy periods.

One of the most memorable projects was my graduation research, where I developed an app to help improve calligraphy skills. My former calligraphy teacher used onomatopoeia like "swoosh" and "gradually..." to teach me, and even now I sometimes replay those sounds in my head while I write, so I made the app play onomatopoeia at key points while writing. When that paper was accepted at an international conference, I was thrilled, as it felt like my past experiences were also being recognized. I'm so glad I chose a university where I could realize my "I want to do this!"
