I think I initially started participating in the Advanced ICT Workshop out of a sense of urgency, wondering if it was okay to just drift through university life aimlessly. In the Advanced ICT Workshop, I not only built things that actually worked, but also gained experience in countless ways, including deciding what should be built (for a given theme). Through this, I encountered and overcame many difficulties and challenges that I couldn't have experienced in lectures alone, such as "the difficulty of thinking about what is truly needed in the world" and "the difficulty of leading a team." There were also times when I felt I was beyond my capabilities. I feel that these experiences are the most valuable thing I gained from the Advanced ICT Workshop.
Furthermore, instead of keeping that experience to myself or my team, there was a system in place that allowed me to present it to company representatives and receive feedback, and I personally experienced how this significantly impacted my subsequent job search.
If you want to challenge yourself with something more difficult than university lectures, gain an advantage over others in job hunting, or work as part of a team to achieve something, then please join us!
