Future AI Research Center
Future AI Research Center29th, April 4 April 1, 2017 It was established as the first artificial intelligence research center at a university in Hokkaido.
We will support the research and development of advanced artificial intelligence technologies, consolidate the results, and promote their application and dissemination through collaborative research. Furthermore, we will address the challenges of how to maintain and develop the lifestyles, industries, and cultures of regions such as Hakodate and southern Hokkaido.
Based on technologies centered on IoT (Internet of Things) and artificial intelligence (AI), we aim to co-create a "future AI society" that will be a robust, safe, secure, and sustainable regional ecosystem. To achieve this, we will establish bases in collaboration with local governments and businesses.
Research project theme
- Mobility IT Sector: Social implementation of the fully demand-responsive and shared transportation system "Smart Access Vehicle Service (SAVS)," etc.
- Marine IT field: Research and development, social implementation, and dissemination of comprehensive fisheries and marine informatics.
- Medical IT field: Development of telemedicine support and rehabilitation support devices, etc.
- Museum IT field: Collection of local cultural assets, history, and tourism resources, open data creation, development of utilization technologies, etc.
