Privacy Policy

Public University Corporation Future University Hakodate (hereinafter referred to as "the University") may acquire, use, and manage information relating to an individual that can identify a specific individual, or information that can be easily cross-referenced with other information to identify a specific individual (hereinafter referred to as "personal information"). In doing so, the University considers it its social responsibility to comply with laws and regulations such as the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, protect personal information, and handle personal information while respecting the fundamental human rights of individuals. Based on the separately established "Personal Information Protection Regulations," the University will handle personal information as follows.

Collection of personal information

When this university collects personal information, it will clearly state the purpose of collection and will do so only to the extent necessary to achieve the objectives of the administrative work.

Use and provision of personal information

Our university will not use personal information we hold for any purpose beyond the scope of the purpose for which it was collected.
Our university will not provide or disclose collected personal information to external parties except in the following cases.

  • When handling personal information in accordance with laws and regulations
  • When there is consent of the principal
  • When necessary to protect human life, body, or property.

In cases where it is deemed urgent and unavoidable, or when the university outsources operations that include the processing of personal information, we will require the contractor to take necessary measures to properly maintain and manage personal information, such as preventing leaks.

Proper maintenance and management of personal information

Our university strives to properly manage the personal information it holds and to prevent leaks, alterations, loss, damage, and other incidents, as well as unauthorized access.
We will promptly dispose of and delete any personal information we hold that is no longer needed.

If an individual wishes to disclose, correct, or delete their personal information, we will only respond after verifying their identity or that of their representative through the methods established by this university.
