2020 2020 Our university has reached its 20th anniversary. Looking ahead to future growth, and based on our achievements over the past 20 years, we will continue to operate in accordance with our "Social Collaboration Policy," "Industry-Academia Collaboration Policy," "Intellectual Property Policy," and "Conflict of Interest Management Policy."

As a public university rooted in the local community, Future University Hakodate, as a university that practices education and research that will shape the future society, will make "social collaboration" its third pillar of activity, alongside education and research.

1. Practices that emphasize connections with society—Educational and research activities
   Collaboration with society is essential for implementing educational and research activities that shape the future of society. Our research in areas such as information science, artificial intelligence, complex systems, design, and communication has developed within a deep connection with society. Looking one step ahead of society and humanity, our university seeks opportunities for the social practice of education and research, collaborating with local communities and industries.
   
2. Contributing to the technological and economic development of society—industry-academia collaboration and technology transfer activities
   In the 21st century, innovation is expected to be created through the utilization of the intellectual resources that universities possess. Under our Industry-Academia Collaboration Policy and Intellectual Property Policy, our university strives to transfer the results of our educational and research activities to society through activities such as joint research and intellectual property creation, and to connect them to effective utilization. While pursuing the practical application of original seeds, we will also keenly perceive the needs of society and the local community, and contribute to the development of industry and the economy, and to innovation in the local community, by always proposing technologies, ideas, and problem solutions that are one step ahead.
   
3. Creating the future of society together with citizens—community collaboration activities
   As a university rooted in the local community, we strive to contribute to the development of the region in cooperation with citizens. As a member of the community, the university will not merely disseminate and provide information on diverse activities that go beyond education and research, but will develop unique social collaboration activities by integrating the nascent activities of the region with the educational and research resources of the university.
