A Tutoring System Based on FINESSE
FINESSE is being extended to allow its use as a tutoring
system. The trees generated by FINESSE can be used to identify the `best
tactic' as well as other `incorrect' plays. Users can then be given
feedback by comparing their actions to the plans produced by FINESSE.
This research allows the examination of questions such as:
- `When is it best to provide feedback?'
- `Do tactics help the learning process?'
- `Is the tactic set in FINESSE easily learnt?'
- `Is it better to learn using the system than by yourself?'
- `Is it better to learn using the system than from a human tutor?'
The hope is to incorporate a tutoring interface to FINESSE
into a WWW page.
