Announcement of Faculty Position, Future University Hakodate 202501

    Professor or Associate Professor (One person, Tenured)
  3. Field of Research:
    Fields related to Communication Studies and/or Educational Psychology (including English Language Education and Applied Linguistics, Meta-Learning, Media Studies, Science and Technology Communication). Quantitative approach to research is preferred.
  4. Subjects to be Taught:
    <For Undergraduate School>
    You are required to teach Communication classes in English (in principle, about four classes per year). Moreover, you are required to teach PBL (Project-Based Learning / Project Learning) for the third year of undergraduate school, Graduation Study for the fourth year of undergraduate school and give guidance in Japanese or English.
    <For Graduate School>
    You are required to teach one or more subjects related to “Academic Literacy for Systems Information Science II” or graduate-level subjects compatible with the area of specialization.
  5. Eligibility
    – A person must have a doctoral degree by the time of appointment.
    – A person must have excellent research and educational achievements in the specialized filed.
    – A person must be capable of providing research guidance for both undergraduate and graduate students in the fields related to the university.
    – A person should be enthusiastic in faculty development and education based on the research.
    – A person should be enthusiastic in the core education (English, Math, Programming, etc.) as a whole university and support for the education outside the formal curriculum (such as Meta-Learning).
    – A person who can willingly contribute to the duties as prescribed by the university (such as administrative tasks, preparation for and supervision at entrance exams)
    – A person who can communicate in English and Japanese
  6. Starting Time of Employment: September 1, 2024 in principle

    (3) List of research achievements (such as research papers, publications, works, and vocational achievements (patents, award in a specialized field etc.)), and list of external research funding acquisition.
    (4) Three major publications from the list of research achievements. Please enclose reprints or copies (one for each), and reasons for selecting them as your major achievements (900 characters or less in total).
    (5) Educational achievements (The result of the human resource development in the case of working for a company is included.)
    (6) The outlines of your past work/research, and the future work/research plans (English version/translation is required if the document is written in Japanese. The document must be within two pages of A4 sized paper in length)
    (7) Educational aspirations (One page of A4 sized paper in length)
    (8) List of 2 referees including their names, affiliations, contact addresses (postal address, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses)

    – The selection is made based on your past achievements and the comments of your referees if necessary. Achievements are evaluated by not only the research papers, but also practical experiences, overseas researches, and work experiences.
    – We look for new colleague who can understand the mission of the public university, promote the regional collaboration in Hakodate area, and/or enthusiastically work on pioneering new research areas used the field in the region.
