Announcement of Faculty Position, Future University Hakodate 202502

  3. Field of Research: Fields related to Complex Systems Science and Intelligent Systems (For example; Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Data Science, etc.)
  4. Subjects to be Taught
    <For Graduate School>
    You are required to teach one or more subjects related graduate-level subjects compatible with the area of specialization.
    <For Undergraduate School>
    You are required to teach PBL (Project-Based Learning) for the third year of undergraduate school, Graduation Study for the fourth year of undergraduate school, and also about four subjects in total for the spring and fall semesters as listed below in Japanese;
    – Programming practice subjects including Basic Programming, Information Processing Practice, etc.
    – Mathematics subjects including Linear Algebra, Analysis, Mathematics Practice, Information Mathematics, Probability Theory, Differential Equation, etc.
    – Specialized subjects including Mathematical Optimization, Mathematical Information Science, Formal Languages and Automata, Algorithms and Data Structure, Operating System, etc.
  5. Eligibility
    – A person must have a doctoral degree.
    – A person must be enthusiastic about education and research in the field of Complex and Intelligent Systems.
    – A person must have research achievements in the field of Complex and Intelligent Systems, and be capable of teaching and providing research guidance for both undergraduate and graduate students.
    – A person who willingly contribute to the duties as prescribed by the university (such as administrative tasks, preparation for and supervision at entrance exams)
  6. Starting Time of Employment: September 1, 2024 or April 1, 2025
  7. Application Documents (in either English or Japanese):
    (1) Please write the field (Complex and Intelligent Systems) and specify the position (associate professor or professor) you are applying for.
    (2) Resume (including attached photograph, current address, contact numbers (telephone and e-mail), academic history (after high school graduation), employment history, research experiences, association(s) you belong to, degree(s), and rewards and punishments)
    (3) List of research achievements (such as research papers, publications, and vocational achievements (patents, award in a specialized field etc.)), and list of external research funding acquisition.
    (4) Three major publications from the list of research achievements. Please enclose reprints or copies (one for each), and reasons for selecting them as your major achievements (900 characters or less in total).
    (5) Educational achievements (The result of the human resource development in the case of working for a company is included.)
    (6) The outlines of your past work/research, and the future work/research plans (English version/translation is required if the document is written in Japanese. The document must be within two pages of A4 sized paper in length)
    (7) Educational aspirations (One page of A4 sized paper in length)
    (8) List of 2 referees including their names, affiliations, contact addresses (postal address, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses)

Achievements are evaluated by not only the number of research papers, but also major achievements, internal/external evaluation, and industrial and technological contributions. Moreover, we look for new colleague who can understand the mission of the public university, promote the regional collaboration in Hakodate area, and/or enthusiastically work on pioneering new research areas used the field in the region.
