Field of Information Design
The successful application is required to have academic knowledge in the field of fine arts and plastic arts, and have an outstanding record in various forms of design practice, including social implementation, production, and research. Although, not limited to the following fields, we specifically welcome candidates with backgrounds relating to;
• Interaction Design

<For Undergraduate School>
• The successful applicant is required to teach about four subjects per year as listed below in Japanese depending on the area of expertise. Some subjects are conducted as team teaching consists of multiple faculty members.
“Introduction to Information Expression”, Basic Information Expression 1”, “Basic Information Expression 2 / Basic Information Expression Practice 2”, “Basic Information Expression 3 / Basic Information Expression Practice 3”, “Information Design 1 / Information Design Practice 1”, Information Design 2 / Information Design Practice 2”, “Human Interface / Human Interface Practice”, “User Centered Design / User Centered Design Practice”, “Modern Design”, “Computer Graphics”, “Interactive Systems”, “Special Topics of Information Design”, “Art Management”, etc.
• Project-Based Learning (for the third year of undergraduate school, year-round, team teaching)
• Graduation Study (for the fourth year of undergraduate school, year-round)<For Graduate School>

Both professors and associate professors preside over and manage their research laboratory independently. - Eligibility
• The candidate must hold a doctoral degree by the time of employment.
• The candidate must have excellent research achievements in their field of expertise and enthusiasm for education, research, university administration, and social action.
• The candidate must be capable of providing instruction in the design related practice class and supervising academic research in design.
• The candidate must be interested in fields such as information science and cognitive science, and be able to promote education and research activities in cross-disciplinary with other fields of research.
• The candidate must actively participate in global education and research initiatives.
• The candidate must understand the role of the public university, and is able to enthusiastically work on collaborations with the local community and undertake research in the local area. - Appointment Date

2) Curriculum Vitae (including attached photograph, current address, contact numbers (telephone and email), academic history (after high school graduation), employment history, research experience, academic associations and/or membership degree(s), rewards and punishments, etc.).
3) List of Research Achievements (such as research papers, publications, records of the works or projects, vocational achievements (such as patents, design registration, awards in field of expertise, etc.)) and List of External Research Funding Acquisition.
4) Details of Three Major Achievements from the List of Research Achievements an enclose a reprint or copy for each. Explain the reason for choosing the three selected major achievements (in 900 characters or less in Japanese or 500 words or less in English). Please attach any newspaper articles or other references to your achievements, if necessary.
5) Educational Achievements (human resource development is acceptable in the case of companies)
6) Research Outline and Future Research Plans. The document must be within two pages of A4 sized paper (English version/translation is required if the document is submitted in Japanese)
7) Educational Aspirations (one page of A4 sized paper)

Screening
• Upon submission all application documents will be screened.
• If the applicant passes the document screening, an interview will be held.
• Interview will be held between October 6-10, 2025.
• Interviews will be held face-to-face at future University Hakodate, and the candidate will be asked to give a presentation of research and teaching experience, Q&A session, mock lecture, etc.
• Applicants are responsible for transportation and other expenses associated with the interview screening process.
Result Notification Method
• Result of document screening will be sent by e-mail within about two weeks after the application deadline.
• Interview details will be sent only to those who pass document screening.
