Measures against the Infection of COVID-19
《For Faculty and Staff》

1.If you have symptoms that make you suspect COVID-19 infections

2.If you are diagnosed with COVID-19 infections

3.If you have been identified as a close contact of a person infected with COVID-19

4.If a family member or other person living with you is identified as a close contact with a person infected with COVID-19

5.If the public health center designated you to take PCR test as a person contacted to infected person

6.If a person you contacted recently are going to take PCR test

7.If “COVID-19 Contact-Confirming Application (COCOA)” noticed that you contacted to infected person.

In the case of the above, please take the following actions.

 

1.If you have symptoms that make you suspect COVID-19 infections

(1) At the time of onset

If you have symptoms of a cold such as a fever, cough, general malaise, etc., please respond as follows.

①Please recuperate at home instead of coming to work.

②If you are at work, return home as soon as possible.

③Please take special leave. 

④Faculties who are teaching a remote class at home may continue to teach the remote class if his or her symptoms are deemed to be minor and there is no need to take special leave. If you find it difficult to continue the remote class due to a change in your physical condition or symptoms, you must take a special leave and concentrate on your medical treatment.

⑤Faculties who are conducting face-to-face classes at the university are requested to take a special leave to prevent the spread of infectious diseases and to cancel the classes and concentrate on recuperation.

⑥If your symptoms are mild, call your doctor or other medical institution and follow the instructions given by them.

⑦If you have symptoms such as shortness of breath, severe lethargy, or high fever, or if you have an underlying medical condition that is likely to cause a serious illness, call the Consultation Center for COVID-19 immediately and follow the instructions.

(2) After recovery

When you have fully recovered without medication, including symptoms such as fever, cough and general malaise

①You are allowed to come to work after at least three days of no longer having subjective symptoms while not taking the medication.
(However, if you have infectious disease such as influenza or other infectious disease, you must wait until your doctor certifies that you can come to work.)

②For the time being, please wear a mask, wash your hands, and practice cough etiquette.

 

2.If you are diagnosed with COVID-19 infections

①You are prohibited from working (or coming to work) until you are fully recovered.

②You will not be allowed to work (or come to work) even if the diagnosis is not confirmed and a follow-up observation is ordered.

③Please follow the instructions given by the medical institutions and concentrate on your treatment.

④Please continue to take sick leave. (In the case you take sick leave sequentially to the special leave, acquire sick leave from the date after the infected.)

⑤Please contact the general affairs section as soon as possible.  “Report of Outbreak Situation (Form No.1)”
The contents of the Form No. 1 will be asked.

⑥ Progress Report
– If possible, report your progress after testing positive.
– Continue to follow your doctor’s instructions and concentrate on your treatment.

⑦ When Healed
– Follow your doctor’s instructions, such as staying home.
– Please report on your situation to the university office.
– You must wait until your doctor certifies that you are ready to work.

 

3.If you have been identified as a close contact of a person infected with COVID-19.

①You will be prohibited from working (coming to work) for 2 weeks from the date of your last close contact with an infected person.

②Please take PCR test (A close contact is required to take a PCR test in principle).  Please follow the instructions of the public health center, such as staying at home.

③Please take special leave.

④If you are identified as a close contact, please contact the general affairs section immediately. “Report of Close Contact with Infected Person (Form No.2)”
The contents of the Form No. 2 will be asked.

Please follow the instruction of No. 2 above in the case the result of PCR test is positive.  Please contact the general affairs section if the result of PCR test is negative, you have no symptoms of poor health and have completed the 2-week health observation of the public health center, so you may come to work.

 

4.If a family member or other person recently contacted is identified as a close contact.

(1) Staying Home(Prohibition of work)

①If a family member or other person who lives with you is identified as a close contact, you will be prohibited from working (coming to work) until the PCR test on the family member is confirmed negative. (As a rule, a PCR test is performed on a close contact.)

②Please take exemption from obligation of devotion to duty.

③If a family member tests positive for PCR, you are likely to be identified as a “close contact” by the public health center.
In that case, please call the above number as soon as possible. (Follow the “3. If you have been identified as close contact by the public health department”.)

④Even if the result of PCR test of your family member is negative, you cannot come to work for 2 weeks of your family member’s health observation by the public health center. Please contact the general affairs section after the period of health observation.

 

5.If the public health center designated you to take PCR test as a person contacted to infected person

* The public health center may designate you to take PCR test as a person contacted to infected person other than the case you are specified as the close contact.

①You are prohibited from working (or coming to work) until it is confirmed that you are negative for PCR test.

②Please follow the instruction such as taking PCR test and staying home given by the public health center.

③Please apply for special leave.

④If you are designated to take PCR test, please contact the general affairs section immediately. Your work situation and information of contacted people will be asked.

⑤Please follow the instruction of No. 2 above in the case the result of PCR test is positive. Please contact the general affairs section to tell the result of PCR test if the result of PCR test is negative and you have no symptoms of poor health, so you may come to work.

 

6.If a person you contacted recently are going to take PCR test

* In the case a student, a faculty/staff member, and a family member whom faculty/staff member contacted become close contact and take/took PCR test

(1) In the case you are noticed by the university
The administration bureau contacts you if it becomes clear that you become a contact of a person by the interview from the student or faculty/staff member.  Please fellow the instruction of (2) below.

(2) In the case you are noticed by the contact other than the university (Notice from the person you contacted, etc.)

①You are prohibited from working (or coming to work) until it is confirmed that the person you recently contacted is negative for PCR test.

②Please apply for exemption from obligation of devotion to duty.

*If the person who take PCR test is a person whom you recently contacted, please take special leave.

③In the case the result of PCR test of a person you recently contacted is positive:
-You are continuously prohibited from working (or coming to work).
-Please follow the instructions of No. 3 or 5 above if the public health center designated you to take PCR test.
-If it is judged that you are not required to take PCR test, you can come to work from the next day, but please follow the instruction of No. 1 above and stay home if you have any symptoms of a cold such as a fever, cough, general malaise, etc.

④In the case the result of PCR test of a person you recently contacted is negative:
You can come to work from the next day, but please follow the instruction of No. 1 above and stay home if you have any symptoms of a cold such as a fever, cough, general malaise, etc.

 

7.If “COVID-19 Contact-Confirming Application (COCOA)” noticed that you contacted to infected person.
(Other notice systems and applications created by prefectural governments are included.)

   <Installation of contact-confirming application is recommended>
A contact-confirming application is the application for smartphone that you can receive the notice when there is a possibility to contact with infected person.  By using this application, you can get supports such as seeking diagnosis from the public health center immediately.  Moreover, it is expected to prevent spread of infection if more people use this application.

(1)After receiving notice – before being instructed by the public health center (prohibition to come to work)

①You are prohibited from working (or coming to work) until the public health center instruct.  When you receive notice, please be sure to consult the contact where COCOA informed (such as the public health center) regardless of having symptoms or infected person around you.

②Please apply for exemption from obligation of d

③Please contact the general affairs section immediately after consulting the public health center. Your work and activity situations and information of contacted people will be asked.

(2)After being instructed by the public health center

①If the public health center judges that you are not required to take PCR test, you can come to work from the next day, but please follow the instruction of No. 1 above and stay home if you have any symptoms of a cold such as a fever, cough, general malaise, etc.

②If the public health center judges that you are required to take PCR test, please follow the instruction of No. 5 above.
(You are continuously prohibited from working (or coming to work))

 

8.Other
